About This
- Horticulture grade perlite derived from volcanic rock expands up to 10x when furnaced, creating a lightweight and porous growing medium (Supreme Horticulture).
- Coco coir blocks expand 5x when hydrated, providing an alternative to sphagnum peat moss with increased nutrient retention (Hydro Crunch).
- Perlite introduces pore spaces into soil/media for balanced air and moisture conditions around plant roots, minimizing chances of rot (Supreme Horticulture).
- Both mediums can be used alone or blended with other organic materials like compost, bark, topsoil etc. for propagation and growing (Supreme Horticulture, Hydro Crunch).
- Perlite is sterile, lightweight, non-toxic, pH neutral while coco coir is 100% organic fiber (Supreme Horticulture, Hydro Crunch).
